Interested in Joining Our Team?

We are currently seeking enthusiastic individuals, with a love for helping others, who would join our team at The Mommy Mentor!

  • The definition of doula in Greek is “servant”.

When first-time parents or even seasoned parents give birth to a new precious life, it’s the job of a postpartum doula to serve and care for the family, the first day the new parents and baby arrive home from the hospital. A postpartum doula will care for the new mother and child - in the home - in the same way the nurses care for the duo after the birth in the hospital.

For example, the doula will mother the new mother, teach breastfeeding, bottle feeding, infant care, including swaddling and sleep-training, make meals, shop, perform all laundry duties, keep the kitchen clean, make sure the new mother is sleeping when the baby is sleeping, teach nutrition and naturopathic remedies, teach what is typical and atypical for both baby and mom, and listen to mom’s mental health needs (watching mom closely, which will prevent postpartum depression).

The doula will serve the family in every way possible, bolstering the family to flourish!

  • As a Nanny or Caregiver, your primary role will be to interact with the children you are in charge of to encourage healthy and well-rounded development.

This includes engaging in age-appropriate activities, maintaining schedules and routines, and using a growth mindset to encourage curiosity and exploration.

  • The Family Support Specialist fills many roles in the household and has higher levels of responsibility.

    Childcare

The ages of the children our clients have ranged from newborn to school age. Our client base is mainly first-time parents or parents who have just had their second or third child.

    Home Organization

Your role as a contractor for TMM centers around supporting the families that hire us. Generally, having a newborn means things like dishes, laundry, and basic chores fall to the wayside, causing stress as they pile up. It will be your job to help the family with light housekeeping (e.g, dishes, baby/kid laundry or family laundry, general tidying, special organization projects, etc) and help their home remain (or return to being) a safe and nurturing environment for both the children and parents.

    Errands and Family Support

Our goal is to take care of the little things so that parents can focus on what matters most! Sometimes having groceries already picked up, dry cleaning dropped off, and their home neat can be the difference between a great week and a stressful one. It will be your job to help families with whatever they need to make their household run smoothly!
