Hello, I’m Heather, founder & owner of The Mommy Mentor, LLC!
I’m an experienced Postpartum Doula with thirty-five years of living life as a mother and home manager. I single-handedly raised and home-educated my eight incredible children, which has translated to an unparalleled level of wisdom and understanding of all things “motherhood”. That being said, a lot of what I have learned has come from making mistakes and working past them.

I trained with the best postpartum doula company owner in the RDU area and have over ten years of experience working with moms and families. While I was not working in the field, I volunteered my time to desperate parents in my church, teaching mothering, mother-care, breastfeeding, home organization, and even homeschooling — for free. I have an incredible passion for the family because serving and creating a successful family has been my life’s work.
My children had many illnesses when they were young, so I educated myself in healthcare and, in later years, obtained my CNA license. I studied nutritional and naturopathic remedies for my children, which I utilize often when working with my clients and their families. Moreover, I had eight different children with different learning styles and educational needs, with some of my children living with ADHD, as well. I studied the best books and curriculums, for their many learning styles and needs, to ensure I provided an individualized education aimed toward each child’s learning bents. Out of necessity, I eventually ran my home like a business, with myself as the sole principal and owner.
I’ve been called a wealth of knowledge and resources, but if I don’t have an answer or solution for a parent, I will go above and beyond to find one. When I saw the need for a comprehensive family support service that combines many single-offering services into one, I decided to create one myself. The Mommy Mentor simplifies your life by offering the same array of services you could gain by hiring three separate companies. We offer unmatched levels of compassion, patience, and understanding. We offer support in your home, ranging from newborn care and support, to household management - as we strive to help you create your own foundation of family. We can handle the little things so you can focus your precious energy and time on what matters most!
